on a quietly located, vast terrain, in a valley bed outside the village of Haut-Martelange, the museum offers guided tours of the former slate quarries. There is quite a lot to see as the site comprises 26 buildings dating back to the 20th century, former workshops, administrative offices and workers´ homes. Strolling through the grounds, visitors will discover something new and gain different impressions around every corner and yet, the whitewashed buildings exude a certain ghost town ambience. Parts of the site and some of the houses have been arranged to be in perfectly adequate museum shape, others are completely dilapidated. The former quarry manager´s hunting lodge also belongs to the museum site. The grounds can be quite impassable as the terrain is not paved. Parking and sanitary facilities are available outside the site.
