Mineral Museum Oberkirchen

description

brève description:

The Mineral Museum emerged from the private collection of Augustinus Stein, a passionate agate collector from Oberkirchen. Stein acquired most of the findings within the local region. His niece Marga Alles oversaw her uncle's life work until 1993, at which time the community of Freisen acquired the private collection and turned it into a museum. Today, visitors can admire over 1500 precious exhibits from over 90 different rock types, one of the most spectacular pieces being an agate by the name of Setting Sun.
