the small commune of Roth is a typical example of a quiet village in the Eifel region. Nondescript, plain buildings group themselves around the village church, which stands in a slightly elevated position and can be accessed via a stairway. There is a farmstead directly next to the church. Except for the main street on which residential houses alternate with farmsteads, Roth`s alleyways are rather narrow. The conspicuous absence of stores in town only adds to its almost deserted atmosphere.
