brief description:

the concept of the ensemble revealing typical French forms, château Ziegelberg was built in 1878 to serve as a residence for the family of Edmund von Boch. In 1939, the estate was sold to the borough of Mettlach and used as a vacation home for children. After extensive restorations, château Ziegelberg has been housing the Mettlach Ceramics Museum since 1977. During the course of the renovation works, the ground floor and the first floor were almost entirely reconverted into their original condition

coming from Saarbrücken on the A620 motorway and the A8 motorway in the direction of Luxembourg, take the Merzig-Schwemlingen exit, and continue in the direction of Mettlach. Shortly before reaching Mettlach, turn right and follow the signposts indicating Schloss Ziegelberg
