The remains of a medieval castle with two impressive towers flanking the ancient gatehouse can be found in the very heart of the municipality of Welschbillig. Right next to the gatehouse is a church. The two-storeyed building behind the gatehouse is being used as vicarage, the adjoining annexe, with its large modern window front, serves as a community hall. The area is laid with lawn, paved paths giving access to the buildings. Just across from Welschbillig Castle is the very centre of town with its historic buildings.
